In order to be sure what size of cover best fits your boat – you may want to measure your boat to determine for sure the length and beam width.

How to Measure Your Boat For a Trailer-Storage Cover….

When measuring your boat, use a a steel tape to be sure you have accurate dimensions. To measure length and width, if your boat is on a trailer, you can lay the tape on the ground directly under the boat and eyeball the measurement.
PLEASE NOTE: It’s a good idea to measure your boat, even if you have the manufacturer’s specifications from the owner’s manual.

1. Finding the Centerline Length – Measure from the tip of the bow to the center of the stern. If you have any extensions (swim deck, platforms, etc.), add their length to the centerline dimension if you want these extensions covered.

2. Finding the Beam Width – Measure the widest point of your boat. For this measurement be sure to include the rub-rail.

3. Our covers will fit boats with a beam and center-line measurement plus or minus 6 inches.

4. Add 1 foot to the centerline length if your boat has rails exceeding 6 inches in height. Add one foot to the centerline length for trolling motor.

Hatch Sizes For 1987 Bayliner Ciera 2850?

Hey everyone, Rob has sent a message needing some help from the Bayliner Parts Group……

I had signed up for your newsletter back in April and thanks again for all the good info on Bayliners. In the meantime, I am trying to find out from anyone in your group if they knew what size hatch (or both hatches) is on my ’87 Bayliner Ciera 2850. I am asking because I keep my boat far away and I keep all the manuals on the boat. Further, I always kept forgetting to measure the hatches.

A gentleman is selling a hatch from an older Bayliner Contessa, and the hatch measures 20″ x 20″ , so I am not sure if this was a standard measurement for hatches on Bayliners. It seems to be the same size, but mine seem to be a tad bit smaller. Any help with this matter would be highly appreciated.

Boat repair, I need a new center floor cover…?

I have a 98 bayliner capri open bow sppeed boat and the cover over the storage in the hull is warped and rotted is there a place that custom makes these or am i on y own? I would like the exact same cover (carpeted plywood/fiberglass backed) but I do not know where to find it. Please help

A fiberglass repair shop can do it. I did a lot of them when I worked at a boat shop. They are easy to make. The reason they rot is the manufacturer doesn’t completely rap them in glass. Anny decent marine repair should be able to do it.

Where can I order a snap down boat cover?

All I can find online are the type that you tie down. The boat is a 1992 Bayliner Capri 2070 Bow rider. Any help would be appreciated……thanks!!!

Pretty much any shop that does tents/awnings and boat tops can make a custom-fitted cover for your boat. Check your local yellow pages.

Bayliner 192 engine drip tray?

I have recently purchased a Bayliner 192 with the Mercruiser 3.0L motor fitted. It suffered from a leaking rocker cover gasket and a weeping manifold gasket (externally), hence the bilge has lots of emulsified oil swilling around. No problem – new gaskets and bilge cleaner will sort that.
However now I don’t want to test the theory of oil and water being miscible again, should it spring another oil leak and so am looking for an under sump drip tray.
Where might I purchase such an animal in the UK, or is it just a case of attacking the wife’s washing up bowl with a stanley knife and padding it out with oil absorbant pads?

You are going to have to come up with your own tray, but there is another answer. You can get oil pads at any marine supply store and place them under the engine. There are a couple of types. One that absorbs only oil and one that absorbs oil and water. I use the oil only. They are great and if you do develope a leak any time you can tell where its coming from just by the location of the oil spot on the pad.
