(not stainless you get from home depot etc, thats not marine grade) if your carpeting, id recommend, you coat the wood anyway, in resin, and if you can, fiberglass it. it will strenghthen it, and help hold out water. if you want a non slip deck, using fiberglass, be sure to gelcoat the deck using flowcoat (a gelcoat mixed with wax for use out of molds)<br><b>References : </b><br> basically been covered. but marine ply is the best, but the most epensive. if your going for a traditional look, brass screws, if you intend on covering, go marine grade stainless steel. If the floor is going to be exposed wood, then mahogany planking would be a traditional flooring.
