120HP Mercury Marine- 3,4, or 6 cylinder?

Google search has failed me. This is strictly from curiosity. Years ago, we used to rent a 21′ Bayliner Ski Boat. It had a 120HP Mercury Marine 2-Stroke outboard. From curiosity, google search brings up nothing relevant, is anyone familiar with whether this was a 3, 4, or 6 cylinder engine? Thanks in advance.
Oh I’m sorry, it was a 125HP model 2-stroke. If it matters, I don’t think it does, it had a starting problem warm. The starter didn’t really seem to have enough kick to spin the engine. Dunno if this would help with identification, if there was a problem with that specific model *shrug*

I don’t believe Merc ever made a 120 hp. They made a 115 hp, both in 4 cyl and 6 cyl, and a 125 hp in 4 and 6 cyl, depending on the year.

Apart from the ubiquitous 115 straight six, that went straight four in ’89 I think and eventually the U.S. built Yamaha straight four stroke – the only other power rating on my parts list is 125 HP. My numbers are only from 1966 – 2006 and there may be a de-rated model used for commercial or charter work that doesn’t show up on the regular model listings.

THAT WAS YEARS AGO THERE WERE 115s,125s,135s WHICH WERE BIG IN LINE SIX CYLINDERS ALL THESE MOTORS WERE IDENTICAL EXCEPT FOR CARBERATION. LATER ON MERCURY WENT W/ V6 ENGINE DESIGN AND I DONT THEY OFFER ANY THING LESS THAN 140hp IN THAT DESIGN
