Can you take a 17 foot Bayliner boat in the ocean from Los Angeles to Catalina?

It’s all weather dependent. With nice weather and small swells, yes. The boat has enough free-board to make it.

-All depends of the weather. In warm weather with calm seas it would be an easy trip. Raining with 30 knot winds and a 10 foot swell, not so much.

It might make it, but I wouldn’t do it. I have a 24 foot Bayliner and it’s so unreliable that I never take it offshore.

    Be Safe.
